The typical tasks facing PC administrators are:

In the past, voluminous tools such as Microsoft SMS, WinInstall or NetInstall were used for this purpose. However, starting with Windows 2000 software distribution has been integrated into the operating system using group policies, and Windows XP includes a remote desktop solution as well.
